Working with fabrics on layouts.

Hello again! I'm so sorry I forgot to post a winner for the SCT magazine giveaway. I will do so today! First, a layout that I had in the newest issue of Creating Keepsakes' Mixed Media Scrapbooking. My assignment was to work with fabric and dies, and when I thought of fabric, I thought "soft" and "girly", which led me to scrap some of my favorite pictures of Kati all dressed up. She loves playing dress up and just loves dresses in general! She is most definitely ALL girl!
I used a dark blue floral fabric from my old quilting stash and aqua felt with the Button Card die collection by Papertrey Ink. Of course, it was a perfect opportunity to use the Button Boutique stamp set also. I still can't get enough of these stamps! I used an iron-on fabric stabilizer to make the fabric more durable before running it through the die cutting machine. It worked like a gem, and I had nice clean edges.
You can also see the Heart Border die here with Aqua Mist felt, the Filigree Border die, the Half & Half dies to hang a little tag for journaling and the Half & Half stamp set. (Be watching for another project featuring this stamp set this weekend!)
Check out this issue if you love to try new things - you'll learn tips to working with art mediums, inks, metal, fabric, bling and more.

Now onto the winner of the SCT issue that I posted here. The random winner is HeatherH from Texas! Yay! Heather, please contact me with your mailing address: dflanders71@hotmail.com.

We were gone to Maine for a week, so I am playing catch up with laundry, projects, etc. I've posted a few pictures on Facebook of our trip to the Portland Headlight lighthouse (gorgeous place!), but have more to go through and post when I get a moment. One more thing, if you aren't busy this Saturday, I hope you'll stop by Papertrey Ink for the Stamp-a-Faire event. We will have free tutorials and new projects ALL day long on our blogs. It will be a blast! For all of the information, see Nichole's blog. Thanks, and hope to visit with you on Saturday!

It is a lovely layout. I am having trouble figuring out which are the fabric pieces. Sorry to be a dunce but could you ID them for me?

Oh, I'm sorry. I fixed my blog post to read that the fabric is the dark blue floral. It helped to add an iron on fabric stabilizer to the back to get a nice clean cut when running it through the Cuttlebug with the button card die.

Lovely layout..Love all the different things to look at! She is so adorable. Glad you enjoyed ME. I used to vacation up there all the time. SOOO pretty. If you ever get up to Portland again, I used to go to a restaurant called Demillo's floating restaurant. It was a converted FERRY! So good.
